There are many countries where majority of the population live below the poverty line. They cannot afford to have nutritious food and develop illnesses at a very early age. There are some other countries, where it’s all about the area you live. There is a clear urban-rural divide. People in the rural areas cannot afford good and timely medical care.
Then there are the countries, which are economically well-off, have stable governments and probably even adequate medical facilities. However, affordable health care is not available easily in these countries as well. For instance, statistics show that nearly half the population in the United States does not have access to affordable health care. A staggering 18 million people die in the US due to lack of proper medical care.

For many, cost is the single greatest barrier to quality health care access. Affordable medical insurance should be provided to volunteer emergency responders and firefighters. This is the example set by the state of New York.
First Responders Deserve Nothing Less
This is definitely the message conveyed by the New York state. It is expected that all other state governments in the United States and probably all other governments across the world would look at the example it is setting. New York recently implemented a law that would offer and provide affordable medical insurance for first responders, which include volunteer ambulance workers and firefighters.
